Reading Notes #5

1. I definitely think that learning the six basic components of a news release: letterhead, contacts, headline, dateline, lead paragraph, and body of text.

2. It’s weird that people assume that everyone in the world knows where Chicago or San Fransisco are….

3. I think it’s really important to know that you should put allllll the important stuff in the beginning of the release, called the lead, because sometimes editors will just simply chop off the end of the release to make room or if it is too long.
